Welcome to my first wood panel painting. Had been curious for a long time how the new surface material would respond to my brushwork and technique. I was pleased and will likely do more on such a substrate, in the future.

This painting, like many other paintings I have created, went through a series of changes, refinements and reworks. It seems to be the typical evolution of my painting adventures. I purposefully limited my palette. The temptation is always great to use a large selection of colors but I stayed disciplined and used about 5 colors in my palette selection. It resulted in a calmer appearance and composition. I especially enjoyed the flow and movement of the shapes and patterns in this paintings. It has a pleasing energy and effect.
